There are a few reasons to install a ceiling fan in your house. They really bring style to your residence and wooden homes look impressive with the addition of an elegant polished wood blade fan to match their walls and wood flooring. Dining areas look excellent with a light color fan blade that matches the dining room table and crystal globes on each light bulb will reflect off your crockery and glassware. Each dinner will be brighter with the additional light in your dining environment and you will enjoy every summertime meal with a cool breeze flowing into the dining area.

Fans bring comfort to family rooms and dens too. A ceiling fan over your favorite chair will make watching TV, knitting, or reading a more cooler and more tranquil experience with the terrific reading light provided by the fan.

When you are ready to purchase your ceiling fan, consider whether you will be installing the fan yourself or whether you will be hiring someone else to set it up for you. Take into account that if you employ a professional to install it, you will be paying extra cash. The fan will include an instruction manual giving directions on exactly how it should be installed, but if you don't have any wiring skills you should definitely hire someone or get a skilled friend to help you for free. The installation should only take a day, and your home will be cool in no time.

Operating the fan is simple; there will either be a short chain within hand reach that turns on the fan and controls the speeds and next to that, another chain that controls the light switch. Alternatively, you may have a model that does not have the chain, which you can just operate from a switch on the wall. The best ceiling fans will have settings for low, medium, and high speeds, each accessed by an effortless tug of the chain or click of the switch.

You will need to clean the blades of your ceiling fan every week to insure that it gives off the best airflow. The dustiest part of the ceiling fan will be the top part above the blades which you can easily clean with a vacuum with a hose attachment to reach those high spots. If you do not have a vacuum, just use a cloth or paper towel with some sort of non-abrasive cleaning spray or polish.

In summary, a ceiling fan can really brighten your home, providing cool air, and making an elegant addition when you match it with your room colors. Installation can be cheap and easy and a weekly clean will make sure that your fan serves you well for years to come.

Ever since the early nineteen nineties, bagless vacuum cleaners have been chipping away at the market dominance of their bagged vacuum cleaner counterpart. Claiming to best the bagged variety of cleaner in a number of different ways, bagless vacuum cleaners generally carry a higher price tag too. For the most part, you get what you pay for with bagless vacuum cleaners; so even if you are on a budget, don’t let the price tag put you off.

Purchasing a vacuum cleaner is, for most people, a necessary evil, and many of us try to spend as little of our hard earned cash on these household cleaners as we possibly can. For this reason, the price of bagless vacuum cleaners can seem a little like a waste of money. But even if all the talk of continuous vacuum cleaning power and no loss of suction doesn’t convince you, bagless vacuum cleaners really can be well worth the price.

For a start, bagless vacuum cleaners don’t require the regular investment involved in purchasing vacuum cleaner bags. It’s true that bagless vacuum cleaners do require maintenance, but what cleaner doesn’t, and the best vacuum bagless vacuum cleaners will offer filters that can be washed several times before requiring replacement. This factor alone is significant enough to a large number of consumers to push any bagless vacuum cleaner rating up a few notches.

While they do involve a larger initial expenditure, the best bagless vacuum cleaners will be sturdily made and should last a long time. Check out a bagless vacuum cleaner rating before you choose the cleaner for you, as these are invaluable in providing you with the inside scoop on bagless vacuum cleaners. Read the words of the consumers who have been there before you to ensure that you get one of the best bagless vacuum cleaners for you.

There’s no denying that bagless vacuum cleaners tend to be more expensive than their bagged counterparts, but any bagless vacuum cleaner rating will testify that you really do get a better clean with a vacuum that’s easy to maintain. And while there are a few cheap bagless vacuum cleaners available, it’s best to steer clear of them and opt for a sturdily made cleaner produced by a reliable manufacturer. Once you spend a little extra investing in bagless vacuum cleaners, you won’t ever go back to bagged.

A Guide to Industrial Vacuum Cleaners

Industrial vacuum cleaners are designed with two basic functions in mind ? the removal of debris of all types from the floor and the removal of debris of all types from the air in the working environment. The first application was tricky, to say the least, but the specific needs were dealt with until systems and units were produced that could handle almost any type of debris from the floor of a manufacturing company.

At first, the size of the debris was a question to be dealt with. Then there were wet and dry items that needed to be dealt with simultaneously. Extremely hot or corrosive elements were added to the mix and then radioactive debris had to be taken into account. All of this debris, a bi-product of some sort of manufacturing or large-scale commercial operation, had to be dealt with by vacuum cleaner manufacturers. Often, the special requirements of a company were dealt with on a case-by-case basis at the same time as the new plant was being constructed.

Similarly, airborne debris, dust and microscopic particles of whatever was being produced in the shop had to be removed from the air, either to protect the workers or to gather and store the valuable materials to keep from losing them. Huge vacuum cleaners were mounted on rooftops, and behind the factories themselves, that resembled air-conditioning units more closely than vacuum cleaners. But they performed precisely the opposite function. Where air-conditioners cool and then pump air into the factory to keep temperatures comfortable and controlled, these huge vacuum cleaners are sucking the air out of the factories, either from the ceiling levels or from beneath the floor, filtering out the debris and keeping it accessible during cleaning.

Factories that produce fine particulate debris as part of their manufacturing process need to maintain a safe breathing environment for their workers and those companies that are refining a valuable metal need to collect the particulates for later re-use. Both functions are amply served by today's industrial vacuum cleaners.

Over the years I have scoured the yard sales or scrimped and saved for various items like a curly potato maker, baked potato cooker, rice cooker, food processor, blender, ice cream maker, yogurt maker, snow code maker, well you name it and it has drawn dust in my cabinets. You know the story, get your gadget home and every night your family is eating curly fries and snow cones until finally you receive a petition signed by every neighbor and his dog supporting your family's decision to ban that contraption!I want it!This weekend I removed my egg money jar to see how much change I had saved over the year. I had saved enough to get me one of those vacuum sealer gizmos. I know you have see the informercial, the one where they take a bag of empty aluminum beverage cans and suck the life out of them and seal the bag airtight. When I saw those cans collapsing, I began to drool. I had to have it, I needed it, life wouldn't be the same without it, and surely you can't deprive me of it.!FoodSaver TipsFirst I must tell you a little about the heat sealing FoodSaver. The item comes with heavy weight food packaging bags, or long rolls of bagging material. (you can custom make the size bag that you need) that are boilable, microwaveable, freezable and reusable. Food last longer because the oxygen has been removed.Do double recipes and freeze half for a future meal. Next time, you are going to boil up that cow's tongue, stick an extra one in for next week.Do Not vacuum seal chips/crackers because they will crush (remember pop cans?) If you arfe going to vacuum cookies and brownies, freeze them first to make them firm.Do vacuum seal matches and papers to your boat to keep them dry. I do not have a boat. Ravish, Romantic Randy says that it wouldn't be a good idea to run out and get one just to tryy this tip out. Men!Do not vacuum pack frogs. It is fatal for them.Do preserve christening gowns, wedding gowns, and other momento's by suing the roll material. Cut the vacuum material three inhes longer than you need. I preserved my wedding Osh Kosh coveralls along with my poison ivy bouquet, just in case my daughter wants them for her future wedding day.Do pre-freeze liquid food so that the vacuum does not draw the liquid into the machine. You can fold a paper towel into a thin strip and place three inches below the top of the bag to absorb liquid when in doubt.Do not vacuum soft fruits, such as berries without pre-freezing.Do snip the corner of the bag before you microwave it.Do not snip the corner of the bag before you boil it.Bagging the Entire KitchenNow that I have successfully bagged up the entire kitchen contents, precooked meals to last for the next 5 months, bagged up my conforters and extra pillows, and most importantly my duct tape collection has been bagged and protected from dust and air, I can sit back and get some recipe tips from Granny Clampett.
Aligning Teams with Organizational Goals

Teams don't have to be aligned with the goals of the organization. Teams can work on what they believe to be the right things. They can work diligently on creating the results they think matter. They can be completely committed to success from their perspective.A non-aligned team could enjoy each other and their work. They could accomplish much, and all of that could be completely counter to what the organization needs. Can you see this happening? It isn't just a fantasy, I've seen it, and I'll bet you have too. Maybe you've even experienced it.Teams can't succeed in a vacuum, but far too often that is what organizations expect them to do, and it can lead to the scenarios I've just described.Sometimes this vacuum is created by omission ? leaders just aren't thinking about it or are "too busy" to set context for team success. Other times the reason is optimism ? leaders believe in their team members and their skills. After all they hired bright people ? and bright people will figure it all out. And sometimes the vacuum is caused by a far more pervasive problem - no clear organizational goals, objectives or strategies exist to align to. Leaders must create clear strategies and they must create a clear line of sight throughout the organization, so people and teams can connect their work to the important strategies of the organization. It takes effort to get a team in alignment with the organization's goals and strategies. And it is impossible when those goals and strategies don't exist. Yes, strategies and goals may exist. And yes, they may have been communicated. This is a good start, but isn't enough. Teams can't gain the clear direction they need without conversation. It is the responsibility of leadership to provide that opportunity for conversation. This conversation provides the understanding which provides the team the context they need to clarify their goals and make the decisions that come along during their work.If you want to build stronger alignment between the team's work and the organization's goals, consider the following:Start at the beginning. Make sure the organization's goals and strategies are set. If not, there isn't much chance of the team being highly successful. At a minimum the team needs to understand, from the start, why their work product matters in the bigger picture and how they can make a positive impact.Generate conversation. Don't deliver the goals in the email when you ask people to join the team. Don't put it in the packet of materials people get when being hired. Make the time to have conversation. The alignment we are searching for needs to be deep ? almost visceral. Help individuals and the team develop meaning and purpose. Help them understand how they can create work that matters.Get the team's help. Get their input. Remember that you are trying to create alignment and agreement. When people have the chance to shape the goals of the team and when they have the opportunity to have input into those decisions they will have greater agreement with the goals.Provide a connection. Teams need someone in leadership "above" them that can provide support and resources, someone who can answer questions and keep them on track. Some people call this a team sponsor. The sponsor shouldn't be on the team; rather they provide leadership, support and connection. The sponsor keeps the team from feeling like they are all alone.Make them accountable. If the alignment is clear and the goals set, then the team needs to be held accountable for results. In organizations where accountability has been lax in the past, this may seem like a jolt, but it won't be long before this accountability not only drives results but improves team dynamics too.It is easy to see how these steps will help a team succeed ? it is easier to do that when they know what success is. But more than helping them deliver a desired result, the sense of clarity, meaning and direction that these steps create help teams get over many other hurdles that teams face in terms of commitment and "getting along" with each other. Why?Because people want to belong to something that matters, they want to be a part of making a difference. They want things to believe in. When we give them those things, collectively they will work through many personal issues and challenges and they also become more committed to the end product. As leaders we can help teams find these things, and at the same time improve our likelihood of getting the results we want. All it takes is effort, communication and commitment to help teams get aligned with the most important goals of the organization..

Panasonic vacuum cleaners might suffer somewhat from the popularity of the company's electronic devices besides vacuum cleaners, such as TVs and other entertainment equipment, but those in the know understand that Panasonic vacuum cleaners offer a great vacuum clean at a reasonable price. With a great selection of both Panasonic upright vacuum cleaners and canister models, this is a vacuum brand that is unlikely to disappoint.

Fitted with the same range of technological features found on their other electronic products, Panasonic vacuum cleaners offer what is arguably the best range of technological tools available in today's vacuum market. With features such as dirt sensors and automatic adjustment when you vacuum certain surfaces, Panasonic vacuum cleaners display the technological prowess that the company is famous for.

Panasonic vacuum cleaners have a style of cleaner to suit almost every household's needs. With powerful suction as a uniform trait across all the Panasonic vacuum cleaner's models, you can be sure of a thorough clean whichever type you choose. Be warned, though, the choice is likely to be a difficult one ? with Panasonic upright vacuum cleaners offering the same close clean afforded by the flexible canister vacuum and the canister cleaners offering a clean as powerful as many upright brands, Panasonic vacuum cleaners will have you spoiled for choice.

Lightweight and excellent value, Panasonic vacuum cleaners are both well made and versatile. The consumer reviews of Panasonic vacuum cleaners do recommend, however, that these cleaners are more suitable for light to moderate cleaning, and suggest that Panasonic vacuum cleaner bags can be difficult to locate. The Internet, however, is a great way to locate vacuum cleaner parts, so don't let Panasonic vacuum cleaner bags become the only reason that you don't purchase one of these great cleaners.

In short, Panasonic vacuum cleaners are easy to use and provide powerful suction. With a range of technological vacuum treats to help your chores run more quickly and smoothly, it seems there are very few reasons not to choose Panasonic vacuum cleaners for your home.

Carpet Steam Cleaning

Just as carpet manufacturing has evolved, so has carpet cleaning. Most manufacturers recommend 'carpet steam cleaning' for cleaning modern-day carpets. We should, however, use the steam cleaning method after verifying that the carpet fibers will not be damaged by steam. Sometimes, if a carpet is made from a very tender thread, steam cleaning could harm it. For most other carpet types, steam cleaning is considered an effective cleaning method.

The process of 'carpet steam cleaning' uses a simple scientific phenomenon for 'deep cleaning' the toughest dirt by drawing dirt to the surface and wiping it off before it has a chance to stain. To steam clean a carpet, use a liquid-based cleaning agent, which can be vaporized or turned, into steam, a 'steam cleaning machine' that is also referred to as a 'carpet extractor' and a vacuum cleaner. It is always a good idea to choose a mild solution as it is safe for the carpet as well as the individual using it. As far as the machines or extractors are concerned, use self-contained ones that have in-built vacuum cleaners. Alternatively, use the extractor first and then a vacuum cleaner.

After selecting a cleaning solution, follow the instructions provided in the user's manual. Then, move the extractor over the carpet surface (as directed in the user's manual), gradually covering all areas of the carpet surface. The extractor injects the cleaning solution into the carpet in the form of steam or vapors that compel dirt to come to the surface. This process is completed in a few minutes, and with some machines, even a few seconds. Then, the extractor extracts the dirt using air at a very high pressure. After extraction, the carpet is vacuumed to ensure complete removal of dirt.

Carpet steam cleaning, which is also referred to as extraction, is considered very effective in deep cleaning. It not only helps in cleaning the carpet surface, but also cleans the carpet base and carpet fibers. Depending on budget and requirement, choose extractors with powerful motors or those with less powerful motors. Also choose the accessories that will prove most helpful, like brushes and cords..

Carpet Cleaning Machines

There is a wide variety of carpet cleaning machines to choose from. The most commonly used is a vacuum cleaner. Most people prefer an 'upright' vacuum cleaner over a 'canister' for convenience. Some people also like to use a 'hand-held' for stairs and other carpeted areas that don't offer maneuverability.

An 'upright' vacuum cleaner can be used with one or two motors, depending on the type of dirt that accumulates and the type and frequency of cleaning required. Some people also like to use 'spotters' for spot cleaning. These usually have rotating brushes to scrub the stain off the carpet. In order to select the right carpet cleaning machine, we also need to be sensitive to the fabric that the carpet is made up of.

Another type of carpet cleaning machine is called the 'carpet cleaning extractor'. The extractor is ideal for deep cleaning. Use a regular 'carpet cleaning extractor' or a 'self-contained' one. A 'carpet cleaning extractor' is suitable for deep cleaning as it literally extracts dirt from an entire carpet, not just from its surface. If we use a 'self-contained carpet cleaning extractor', it injects a cleaning solution in the carpet and extracts it and it can also be used to vacuum the carpet after the process of extraction has been completed.

Many people also use 'carpet steam cleaners' for deep cleaning. The 'carpet steam cleaner' uses steam to draw dirt out of carpet surfaces, bases and fibers. It is considered extremely effective and several users of these machines say that it helps them get rid of all the dirt in their carpets, even if the dirt has seeped into the fibers and the base of the carpet. The steam injected by the 'carpet steam cleaner' loosens dirt and brings it closer to the surface. Then the dirt is vacuumed, leaving the carpet dirt free.

Some other factors that to consider before purchasing a carpet cleaning machine are size, attachments and accessories. The size of the machine should be in accordance with the preferences of the person who is going to use it the most. The choice of attachments, particularly cord length, should be determined based on the dimensions of the carpeted area. Accessories, such as different kinds of brushes, can be added for specific problems such as frequent food stains or dirt related to pets. .

In most areas, there is a person nearby who can fix your broken vacuum cleaner. Whether they specialize in vacuum cleaner repairs only or if they do repairs on a wide variety of motor driven home appliances, they should be able to easily fix your broken machine.

If you have one of the less pricey models, you might want to consider buying a new one before having someone repair it for you. The hourly fee for labor and the costs of parts may not warrant the repair price, unless of course you simply have to have the vacuum cleaner that you've grown accustomed to for a long time. An honest repair service will tell you that upon examination, which is usually free unless the problem is not easily diagnosed on the surface.

In most situations, when you find a repair shop and bring in your broken vacuum cleaner, they'll ask you a few simple questions. Obviously, if you knew what was wrong, you'd fix it yourself. All most people know when they bring in their broken machine is that it's broken. The repair shop will ask you what was happening when it stopped. He'll ask how old it is and a few other pertinent questions so he can make a quick evaluation of the problem. Then he'll give a quick examination to the obvious moving parts and if he sees something, he'll be able to tell you immediately what's going on and what it will take to fix it.

If he can't diagnose the problem quickly, you'll have to leave the unit in the shop, pay a small fee for him to determine the nature of the problem and discuss the matter over the phone before he makes the repairs. You can then decide if you want to go for the cost of repairing your vacuum cleaner or if you'd rather junk the old one and buy a new one..
